Styrene - Polystyrene Sign

Styrene—technically high-impact polystyrene (HIPS)—is a thermoformable sheet material favored by exhibit designers and retail display manufacturers for its unusual combination of flexibility and rigidity. At thicknesses of 20-40 mil, styrene can be bent by hand to follow gentle curves (like pole covers or cylindrical column wraps) without cracking or losing its printed surface. At thicker gauges (60-100 mil), it functions as a semi-rigid panel similar to thin PVC but with improved flexibility. This makes styrene a preferred choice for applications where complete flatness isn't achievable or where the printed graphic needs to wrap around a radius—perfect for trade show booth components, retail fixture graphics, sports venue signage, and architectural feature installations. The material is food-safe and non-toxic, making it suitable for grocery, convenience, and food-service retail environments. It cuts cleanly with laser, CNC, and knife cutters, and accepts UV printing with excellent color saturation. For outdoor use, protective UV lamination is recommended to prevent premature fading.
