Foam board (or foamcore) is the product of choice when you need a rigid surface at a minimal material cost and with a significantly reduced shipping burden. A typical 3/16" foamcore panel weighs less than half a pound per square foot—light enough to mount on most interior walls using adhesive squares, double-sided tape, or shallow pin fasteners without requiring the wall anchors or structural reinforcement that heavier materials demand. The paper face coating accepts high-resolution inkjet printing beautifully, delivering photographic quality and smooth gradients in full color. Standard thicknesses are 3/16" and 1/2", with the thicker option providing improved rigidity for larger panels or free-standing applications. Foam board is an indoor-only material: the foam core is susceptible to moisture damage and the paper faces can delaminate in humid environments. However, for one-time events, seasonal promotions, trade show displays, gallery installations, and temporary retail signage, foam board is an economical and practical solution. Custom shapes are available including contour cuts, angled edges, and geometric panel configurations for creative display concepts.
