Which postcard size should you mail?

4×6 is the classic, cheapest-to-mail card and the first choice for appointment reminders, coupons and event invites. 5×7 gives a photo or menu room to breathe and still mails at the standard letter rate. 6×9 and 6×11 qualify for USPS Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) — the lowest postage per piece for saturating neighbourhoods without a mailing list. Our templates put the address block, barcode clear zone and EDDM indicia exactly where the post office wants them.

Artwork, bleed and USPS rules

Export a PDF at 300 DPI with 0.125" bleed and fonts outlined, CMYK colour. On the mailing side keep a 4" × 2.375" clear zone for the address and barcode (our template marks it) and avoid dark backgrounds behind the address. Aqueous or UV coating on the front only leaves the back inkjet-addressable. Every order gets a free digital proof from prepress before printing.

What postcard size is cheapest to mail?

4×6 (up to 4.25" × 6") mails at the USPS postcard rate, the lowest first-class price. 5×7 and larger mail at the letter rate; 6×9 and 6×11 qualify for EDDM saturation mailings, which is the lowest per-piece postage when you do not have a list.

Can you print postcards the same day?

Yes. 14pt and 16pt gloss postcards proof-approved before 11 AM CT ship the same business day from Houston. Specialty stocks and foil take 2–6 business days.

Which postcard stock is best for direct mail?

14pt gloss with UV coating on the front and an uncoated back — the front pops in the mailbox and the back accepts inkjet addressing and postage. For premium or sustainable brands, 16pt gloss or 18pt kraft recycled are the most-ordered upgrades.

Do you print EDDM postcards?

Yes. Our 6×9 and 6×11 postcards meet USPS EDDM size rules, and the template marks the indicia and address zones. We can bundle in 50s or 100s and ship to your post office or mail house.

Can I order different versions in one postcard order?

Yes. Upload one PDF per version (location, offer, language); each version is priced as its own set, proofed separately and bundled and labelled so the mail house can tell them apart.

What is the minimum postcard order?

100 cards per version on most stocks, with steep price breaks at 500, 1,000, 2,500 and 5,000. Campaigns above 25,000 are quoted with offset pricing.

Can I write on the back of glossy postcards?

Yes — our standard 14pt and 16pt postcards are coated on the front only, so the back takes ballpoint, marker and inkjet addressing. Natural and kraft stocks are uncoated on both sides.
