A label that moves

Holographic film carries a microscopic diffraction pattern embossed into its surface. As the viewing angle changes, the pattern splits light into a moving spectrum — the label literally animates in the customer's hand. Nothing else on a shelf does that. Printing brand colour over a hologram

Ink on bare holographic film becomes a shimmering tint — spectacular for backgrounds, useless for logos that must be on-brand. The rule is the same as for gold and silver: put a white-ink underprint beneath anything that needs to be opaque and colour-accurate, and leave the rest bare so the hologram shows through.

Logo + product name: white underprint, then CMYK. Reads correctly from any angle.
Background: bare film or a light tint — this is where the shimmer lives.
Black on hologram: prints dense with no white and looks like black lacquer over rainbow — a very popular streetwear and beverage look.
Avoid photographs unless white-backed; the pattern fights fine detail.
Keep 40%+ of the label unprinted. A fully inked holographic label is just an expensive white label.

Holographic seals as anti-counterfeit protection

Counterfeiters copy artwork with scanners and digital presses; they cannot copy an embossed diffraction pattern. A small holographic seal on the carton flap, a tamper-evident circle over a jar lid, or a serial-numbered 'authentic' sticker gives retailers and customers a two-second visual check.
